Clare has a developing  Court of Protection practice and draws on her substantial experience in clinical negligence matters. She is in demand for her combination of effective court room advocacy and approachability.

Clare is a contributor to the third edition of Medical Treatment: Decisions and the Law (edited by Christopher Johnston QC).

Experience and expertise

Clare has conducted both final hearings and directions hearings in the Court of Protection in welfare and treatment cases.

She has recently been involved in two cases concerning female genital mutilation.


Clare co-authored chapter seventeen: Treating Suicidal Patients in the fourth edition of the book Medical Treatment: Decisions and the Law, edited by Christopher Johnston QC and Sophia Roper QC and written by 27 members of Serjeants’ Inn.
