Overview

Over the last ten years, Serjeants’ Inn has expanded its silk team from 8 to 25 KCs, recruited 41 tenants and won 46 awards: this growth is a result of careful strategic planning to enable us to meet evolving client demands and to increase our commercial resilience. We attract leading practitioners primarily on the strength of our reputation – the calibre of our barristers and our cases – but applicants say that our progressive, sophisticated and friendly approach is also a draw.

Introduction

Serjeants’ Inn is a set of 78 barristers specialising predominantly in medical law, police law, professional discipline, employment and public & administrative law. Angus Moon KC and Michael Horne KC are the joint Heads of Chambers.

We are consistently recognised as leaders in our practice areas by the legal directories and we were among the first sets to receive the Bar Council Certificate of Excellence in Well-being. We continue to attract the key briefs in crucial cases, such as the proceedings relating to Archie Battersbee, the Deepcut inquests and the Manchester Arena Bombing Inquiry. Over the last ten years, Serjeants’ Inn has expanded its silk team from 8 to 25 KCs, recruited 41 tenants and won 46 awards.

In a survey we asked our barristers and staff for the five words they would use to describe Chambers, with results as follows:
