Paul acted in the emergency application in Baby E (blood products for a Jehovah’s Witness minor). He has advised a leading London independent hospital that the court had no power to require it to admit and treat a patient and that it should apply to the court to be removed as a party. Paul has acted for an Ambulance Trust required to convey a heavily pregnant woman expecting her seventh child (due to be taken into care) who wished to give birth at home in the presence of her violent partner. He has acted in a number of other urgent treatment cases and has also acted for family members resisting applications brought by Trusts and other organisations.
