7th August 2014

Sir Robert Francis QC has appeared on various news bulletins today to encourage NHS staff to come forward with their experiences of raising concerns about patient care and their views of how to improve the NHS whistleblowing system
Sir Robert, who led the landmark public inquiry into poor care at the Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust, is chairing an independent review, Freedom to Speak Up, to consider how to remove the obstacles and create the right environment for an open and honest reporting culture in the NHS.

The official website for the review is here. This gives full details of how to contact and contribute to the review. A link to Sir Robert’s recent article in The Times can also be found on the Freedom to Speak Up website here.
