John Beggs QC acts in Inquest into the death of PC David Rathband

9th January 2014

John Beggs QC acted for the Chief Constable of Northumbria Police in the Inquest into the death of PC David Rathband.  PC Rathband had been shot in the face and blinded by Raoul Moat in July 2010.  The Inquest examined the Force’s care for PC Rathband in the days before his tragic death.  The Coroner concluded that PC Rathband took his own life and did not criticise the force in any way.
