Elliot Gold’s fifth successful employment action where Claimant withdraws claim

Elliot Gold represented Avon and Somerset constabulary in a major whistleblowing and sex-discrimination claim. A police officer claimed that he had been subjected to 27 detriments over nearly three years. After his cross-examination by Elliot, and on the third day of the nine-day hearing, the Claimant withdrew his claim. Elliot went on to secure a costs order for unreasonable conduct of nearly £10,000.
Elliot had previously acted for Avon and Somerset in the largest discrimination claim brought in its history – where the three Claimants withdrew their action again after Elliot’s cross-examination of the first Claimant. He acted for Greater Manchester Police last January where the Claimant withdrew her whistleblowing and discrimination claim against the constabulary after cross-examination. He also acted for Wiltshire Constabulary in one of their biggest whistleblowing cases – with the Claimant’s withdrawing her claim on receipt of Grounds of Resistance that Elliot had settled.
In the past three years, Elliot has successfully defended five major employment tribunal claims, which Claimants have withdrawn before the opening of the Respondent’s case. He remains instructed in major ongoing whistleblowing actions concerning highly sensitive material and situations and involving senior officers of the highest ranks.
