Angus Moon QC and Susanna Rickard secure important declaration in favour of the treatment of a child suffering from HIV with anti-retroviral medication

Judgment has just been published in an important medical ethical case in the Family Division of the High Court in which Angus Moon QC and Susanna Rickard were instructed by an NHS Trust, Re Child JA. The Trust successfully obtained a declaration that it was in the best interests of a child suffering from HIV to start anti-retroviral medication (ART) as soon as possible.
The case is an important affirmation of the value of ART in treating children with HIV.
