Serjeants’ Inn/ Oxford Neurosurgery Medical Law Conference, Monday 22nd September 2014

2nd September 2014

The fifth Serjeants’ Inn/Oxford Neurosurgery Medical Law Conference will be held on Monday 22nd September 2014 from 10am to 4.30pm at Wadham College, Oxford.

For the past five years John de Bono QC and neurosurgeon Richard Stacey have led this event for both claimant and defendant clinical negligence enthusiasts. John and Richard aim for an interesting mix of medical and legal talks and we will once again be offering a ‘speed dating’ session after lunch with a more informal opportunity to ask questions of our medical speakers.

This year’s programme is particularly exciting. We are delighted to have a keynote address from Lord Ken Macdonald QC of Matrix Chambers, Warden of Wadham College and the former Director of Public Prosecutions.

The programme will also feature:

Miss Linda Hands, Consultant Vascular Surgeon, “Issues in Vascular Surgery”
Ms Shamim Umarji, Consultant Hand Surgeon, “Hand Surgery”
Mr Tim Theologis, Consultant Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon, “Orthopaedic Management of Cerebral Palsy”
Dr Bernard Prendergast, Consultant Cardiologist “Infective Endocarditis – the perfect medico-legal storm”
Caroline Hallissey, Serjeants’ Inn, “Inquest Advocacy”
Pravin Fernando & Cecily White, Serjeants’ Inn, “The Mitchell Nightmare”
John de Bono QC, Serjeants’ Inn “Legal Update”

Lunch will be served in hall.  We anticipate that as previously the event will be accredited by the SRA, Bar Council and APIL for 5 hours CPD.

The cost is £250 per delegate and places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. To book please email Andrew Grosvenor at mailto:agrosvenor@serjeantsinn.comor telephone Chambers on 0207 427 5000.
