Serjeants’ Inn Chambers gains 17 new rankings in The Legal 500

16th September 2015

We are delighted to report that our barristers gained 15 new rankings in the latest edition of the Legal 500, with new set rankings for Administrative and Public Law and Inquests and Inquiries.

The editorial notes that: “Serjeants’ Inn Chambers is ‘in the top stream of sets for clinical negligence’, and produces ‘exceptionally high-quality work in all areas of professional discipline’. It is also strong in public law, particularly in areas such as police law, inquests and inquiries. ‘You can always be assured of strong advice at this set’, and there are ‘excellent advocates at all levels’.

2013 and 2014 were headline years for chambers as it moved to new premises and recruited a dedicated client care team, led by client care director Catherine Calder, a former solicitor who joined from Radcliffe Chambers. Instructing parties note ‘the conference facilities are really good in the new building’, and ‘a first-class service is provided throughout chambers’.

The client care team works closely with chambers business director Martin Dyke (also a former solicitor) and the clerks’ room, which is ‘efficient, professional and personable’. ‘The clerks take time to find out what law firms want and need, and deliver.’ Senior clerk Lee Johnson ‘runs a tight ship and is very attuned to clients’ needs’. ‘Quality and service is at the heart of what he delivers’, and ‘he will go the extra mile to help’.”
