Andrew Hockton wins appeal from the GMC in the Administrative Court

7th April 2014

On 3rd April 2014 Amanda Yip QC, sitting as a Deputy High Court Judge, allowed the appeal of Dr A in a case involving an allegedly indecent breast examination. The Court quashed the finding made by the panel that the doctor’s conduct was sexually motivated. The findings of impairment and sanction of 12 months’ suspension were also quashed. The judge ordered the case to be remitted back to a fresh panel to consider whether a warning might be given and made a costs order in favour of the appellant. The appellant was represented by Andrew Hockton, instructed by Angela Pilling and Edward Pollard of Ryan solicitors.
