Elliot Gold wins biggest internal discrimination and whistleblowing claim in Avon and Somerset Constabulary’s history

28th May 2015

Elliot Gold represented the force in this case involving allegations of harassment, victimisation and sex discrimination. Three women dog handlers brought combined claims against the Constabulary involving 95 allegations of sex and whistleblowing discrimination and 32 protected acts or disclosures.

The trial was listed for six weeks and was to hear from 46 witnesses.

After Elliot’s two day cross-examination of the third Claimant, who gave evidence first, all Claimants withdrew their claims for no financial settlement. The six week case ended in three days, saving considerable expense and minimising further publicity.

The case attracted national press coverage. Click the following links to read articles on the Daily Mail, Express and ITV websites.

Elliot is a member of the police team and employment team.
