Jamie Mathieson

Call 2014

Overview

Jamie has a rapidly growing clinical negligence practice. He is instructed by claimants and defendants to advise on liability and quantum on paper and in conference, to draft pleadings and schedules, for representation at RTMs and mediations, and to appear in court including at trial. He has been instructed on very high quantum cases as a junior and has acted in complex matters in his own right, working without a leader on multiple cases with a pleaded value in excess of £1m.

Jamie is recommended as a Tier 3 leading junior in clinical negligence by The Legal 500, one of the youngest barristers to have achieved that ranking, with the directory reporting that “Jamie is an extremely competent, bright, and sympathetic counsel, who is always very much in charge of his brief while at the same time bringing the human touch to his dealings with clients.” and that “Jamie is a pleasure to work with. He is always well prepared, incredibly intelligent and has a fantastic way with clients which immediately puts them at ease.”
